The Workshop
- Please note that before reserving the studios and certain makerspace equipment, you must attend an orientation.
- Reservations can be made for a total of 3 times a week, with individual reservations upto 3 hours each. This applies across all services, meaning that you have a total of 9 hours to of available use across all studios and makerspace equipment per week. Overnight 3D printing slots do not count against this total.
- If you have a need for additional or extended reservations, we do make exceptions for class assignments and research projects, please email theworkshop@vcu.edu with information about the course/lab information, project details, and faculty contact.
- If you are interested in overnight 3D printing, please use this reservation calendar.
- If you are interested in using non-PLA filament, please email your request to theworkshop@vcu.edu.
- Reservations not claimed within 15 minutes of the scheduled start time may be made available to others
- To ensure fair access for all patrons, reservations must be made in continuous blocks. Patrons who utilize a "staggered reservation" strategy of booking non-consecutive blocks with deliberate shorter gaps in between in order to bypass maximum booking limits will have their reservation cancelled. Repeated offenses may result in a loss of access to The Workshop's services.
- All Creative Technologies and Scholarship equipment in the Workshop should be used for its intended purpose.
- VCU-related projects take precedence over personal projects.
