Important Notes
- This is only for reserving one slot a week for overnight 3D printing in The Workshop. If you wish to make a regular (daytime) reservation, please see our main reservations page.
- If you have questions, please reach out to The Workshop at theworkshop@vcu.edu or at (804) 827-3594.
- You can only sign up for one overnight slot per week. If you need to request more than one night, email theworkshop@vcu.edu with
- the sliced Prusa Project File (.3MF) for both of your overnight prints
- the email of the professor overseeing the project
- the date and printer you chose for your second overnight time slot
- You may only reserve the second overnight slot once your request has been approved.
- Prints may only be done using PLA filament. If you want to use a non-PLA filament, email theworkshop@vcu.edu with:
- the reason you need a non-PLA filament for academic or research purposes.
- the sliced Prusa Project File (.3MF)
- the available overnight time slot that you wish to reserve
- You may only reserve the slot once your request has been approved.
- On the day of the print, retrieve the requested non-PLA filament from a Workshop employee
- You must be available at opening the next day to remove the filament and return it to the makerspace desk so that other users don’t accidentally print with non-PLA filament.
- Only the person who reserved the time slot will be able to check out the printer.
- If you are 15 minutes or more late you risk losing your reservation.
- If you are waiting for a no-show to take their printer time slot, you still have only one overnight slot a week unless otherwise approved
- Remember that you must have attended a Prusa MK4 orientation before you can reserve it
