This workshop is about making statistics summary tables that are customized to specific needs. We often want to present statistics on very specific user groups for our patient profile or needs assessments. Sometimes the statistical tables we find are not quite what we want. Have you ever found a statistics table that was almost perfect? Have you wished that you could tweak those government statistical tables a little? You can! There is a way to customize “cross tabulations” or statistical tables from the Census.

In this session we will walk you through customizing a table using the Public Use Microdata Sample on http://data.census.gov. This workshop is a follow-up to the health data and statistics class. It is recommended that attendees new to searching for statistics should watch that webinar first.

By the end on the session, participants will be able to:

  • Navigate to the American Community Survey microdata site
  • Create a crosstabulation of national health statistics using three or more variables

Registration is required. After registering participants will receive the class URL via email.
