LGBTQ+ Health: Information Resources for Patients and Providers
Event box
From discrimination to lack of access, LGBTQ+ individuals face unique challenges in health care. Would you like to know more about the healthcare needs and rights of LGBTQ+ individuals? Perhaps you or someone you know identifies as LGBTQ+ and you would like to learn more about patient rights.
VCU Libraries offers two online guides to help you with these information needs:
- Provider guide with links to information about providing effective and inclusive care for LGBTQ+ patients.
- Patient guide for people in the LGBTQ+ community with information resources about specific healthcare issues they may encounter.
At the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:
- List the benefits of providing resource guides about LGBTQ+ health
- Find and use the VCU Libraries resource guides to effectively care for LGBTQ+ patients
Registration is required. Please bring your lunch and join us in person or online for the discussion. The Health and Wellness Library is located in the VCU Health Gateway Building, Ground Floor, Room G-112. After registering participants will receive the class URL via email 3 days before the webinar. Contact 804-828-2432 or ricasatakj@vcu.edu for more information.
