What does research look like in the 21st century? The internet allows us to share scientific discoveries and scholarly research faster than ever. New modes of digital analysis allow data to be incorporated into larger studies, extended through broader replication, and examined in innovative ways. Research can now reach underfunded collaborators and benefit more parts of society. But this also brings a “reproducibility crisis” as journals and researchers try to find data to reproduce studies and cannot locate the data. We can reap wider benefits and mitigate concerns of science in the digital age through Open Science. Join us in the Open Science Framework Extravaganza as we spend an afternoon discussing the practicalities of open science, and do hands-on projects to build the necessary skills to make better, more open research. Our projects will go beyond science, and all scholars in the sciences, social sciences, and humanities are welcome to join us to learn how to move towards open research!
